Valgan Tablet is used to treat cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection of the retina (retinitis) in adult patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). It is also used for the prevention of CMV infection in patients who have received an organ transplant from a CMV-infected donor.Valgan 450 mg tablet (valganciclovir) is an antiviral medication primarily used to treat Cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis in patients with AIDS and to prevent CMV infection in transplant recipients. It works by inhibiting viral replication, specifically targeting infections in those with weakened immune systems

• CMV Retinitis Treatment: Used in AIDS patients to treat CMV infections of the retina, which can lead to vision loss.
• CMV Prophylaxis (Prevention): Prevents CMV disease in high-risk patients who have received a solid organ transplant (heart, kidney, or kidney-pancreas) from a CMV-infected donor.
• Inhibition of Viral Multiplication: The active ingredient, valganciclovir, converts into ganciclovir in the body to stop the virus from multiplying.
